MAKE THE CERTIFIED
MOVE!
Changing hosting companies can be a serious
pain in the _ _ _, but we here to help you make the transition
as smooth as possible. This process can be a very easy process
if done in the proper steps. We will help you transfer your website
files over to us for free or you can do it yourself by following
the instructions below.
If you would like for our site transfer
team to move your website files, databases, emails, etc. to your
new Certified Hosting account, please open
a tech support ticket and provide us with the information
below.
Please include the following:
1) Previous Host Server IP
2) cPanel Username (if applicable)
3) cPanel Password (if applicable)
If you do not nave cpanel at your previous host, it is OK, we
can still attempt move your files.
Please provide the following:
1) FTP Host Name
2) FTP Username
3) FTP Password
4) PHPMyAdmin Info (if you have databases that need to be moved)
- The first step to making your move to Certified
Hosting is to make sure that you DO NOT cancel
your account with your old hosting provider. To achieve zero
downtime you must have your account active at both your old
hosting company and with us at the same time. We advise that
after your move is fully complete, you can then properly cancel
your old hosting account.
- Currently you should have two active hosting
accounts accounts. One with us and one with your previous host.
At this time you have access to your new account with us. You
now upload all of your website files via FTP. Also, make sure
to also restore any MySql databases through cpanel or phpmyadmin.
If all of this sounds way to complicated already, don't
worry! As mentioned above, we are happy to facilitate your website
transfer for FREE.
- After you have all your files on both hosting
accounts you can view your website live on our network by going
to your IP address or temp address provided in your welcome
letter. If everything looks good, the same on both hosting accounts,
you are now ready to update your name servers.
- In order to update your name servers you will
need to visit your domain registrar company. This is the place
where you originally purchased your domain name. In the admin
area of your registrar, there is a location where you can update
your name servers to the following:
DNS1.ICERTIFIED.NET
DNS2.ICERTIFIED.NET
We have some great tutorials exactly how to do this. UPDATE
NAME SERVER TUTORIALS
- Once you have made the name servers
changes, please allow 12 to 48 for your website resolve to our
network. This period of waiting time is referred to as a propagation
period. This means that your DNS is resolving world wide, and
your site will be bouncing from the old host to the new host
depending on the end user's location. After the time period
is up your site will only be seen at Certified Hosting. Some
people like to make a small change to their home/index page
so that you can easily tell which network you are viewing the
website from. Once you are certain the propagation period has
ended, you can now contact your host and cancel your old hosting
account.
If you have any questions about this process or you decided
you would like for us to do the transfer for you, please contact
our tech support department and we'll be more than happy to
assist you.
Thank you for making the CERTIFIED
MOVE!
Certified Hosting, as a courtesy,
will transfer your web site files from your previous host to
your new Certified Hosting account. We will make every
effort to help you move your site files and get your websites
functional on your new hosting account. Please understand that
this service provided as a courtesy. Certified Hosting makes
no guarantees regarding any aspect or portions involved with
web site files transfers, or time required to complete an account
transfer. Hosting companies have all different types of platforms
that save data in an incompatible or proprietary format, which
could make it very difficult if not impossible to migrate some
or all account data. Certified Hosting will try our absolute
best to help you with this transfer, but in some cases we may
be unable to assist you in a transfer of data from an old host.
